Texas Water Development Board approves $37,642,456 to the Parker County Special Utility District (Parker County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (August 6, 2026) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $37,642,456 to the Parker County Special Utility District (Parker County), in principal forgiveness, from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Emerging Contaminants. The District will use the assistance for planning, design, and construction of water system improvements projects to address emerging contaminants.

With the assistance approved today, the District will expand the capacity of the water treatment plant from 2.0 million gallons per day (MGD) to 4.0 MGD to meet anticipated supply shortfalls. Additionally, the upgraded facility will incorporate reverse osmosis treatment.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
