HOUSTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites you to attend a public meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the Houston Community Center to learn more and offer ideas about the upcoming Highway 16 reconstruction project.
The meeting will be held from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Houston Community Center at 111 W Cedar Street, Houston, MN 55953. There will be no formal presentation. People can stop by at any time during the meeting to offer their observations about the road and how they use it, as well as meet the project team and ask questions.
The project is scheduled for construction in 2031 when crews will reconstruct and resurface Highway 16 in Houston, replace a bridge east of Houston and Highway 76, and make other drainage and infrastructure improvements.
“Now is the time for the community and others who use this highway to provide their observations, ideas and perspectives to ensure they are included in the discussions as we scope, develop and prepare to design improvements,” said Tom Austin, project manager for MnDOT District 6.
