Texas Water Development Board approves $936,000 to the Red River Authority (Wichita County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (October 1, 2026) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $936,000 in principal forgiveness to the Red River Authority (Wichita County) from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF). The Authority will use the assistance for planning, design, and construction of a water system improvements project.
With the assistance approved today, the Authority will install one new 30,000-gallon ground storage tank with an aeration system, one chloramine disinfection facility, two new 300-gallon-per-minute pumps, a generator, a new SCADA system, and replace approximately 100 feet of water line.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
